PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY SUBMITTING A VALUATION REQUEST OR SENDING ITEMS TO US, YOU ("THE SELLER") AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS.
1. INTERPRETATION AND SCOPE
1.1. These Terms apply to the contract between Magazine Trader Ltd (Trading Address: R2, Llys Kearns, Skewen, SA1 8QL) and the individual or entity offering items for sale ("Seller"). 1.2. "Goods" refers to magazines, books, comics, brochures, and related media listed by the Seller. 1.3. "Offer Price" refers to the valuation provided by Us to the Seller via email or telephone. 1.4. "Packet/Parcel" refers to the box(es) containing the Goods sent by the Seller.
2. THE OFFER AND CONTRACT
2.1. Valuation: All valuations provided are initial estimates based strictly on the information (title, quantity, and condition) provided by the Seller. 2.2. Validity: An Offer Price is valid for 14 days from the date of issue. If the Seller does not book a collection within this period, We reserve the right to withdraw or revise the Offer Price. 2.3. Formation of Contract: A binding contract is formed only when the Goods are received, inspected, and accepted by Us at our warehouse.
3. SELLER WARRANTIES (Ownership & Rights)
3.1. By sending Goods to Us, the Seller warrants that:
-
(a) They are the legal owner of the Goods.
-
(b) The Goods are free from any third-party claims, liens, or encumbrances.
-
(c) The Goods are not stolen or counterfeit. 3.2. We cooperate fully with law enforcement. If Goods are suspected to be stolen, We will withhold payment and report the matter to the Police.
4. CONDITION AND GRADING STANDARDS
4.1. The Standard: Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, all Goods must be in "Very Good" resaleable condition. This is defined as:
-
Complete: No missing pages, covers, or centerfolds.
-
Clean: No water damage, mould, mildew, or significant staining.
-
Odour-Free: No strong smells of smoke, damp, or pets.
-
Intact: No significant tears, cut-outs, or heavy writing (e.g., completed crosswords). 4.2. Supplements: If Goods were quoted as "Complete with Discs/Gifts," all original cover-mounted CDs, DVDs, posters, or memorabilia must be included. 4.3. Discrepancies: If Goods arrive and do not match the description or condition standard, We reserve the right to revise the Offer Price (see Section 6).
5. SHIPPING, PACKAGING AND LOGISTICS
5.1. Packaging Responsibility: The Seller is solely responsible for packaging the Goods securely.
-
Boxes must be strong, double-walled (where possible), and taped securely.
-
Gaps must be filled to prevent movement.
-
We accept no liability for Goods damaged in transit due to inadequate packaging. 5.2. Weight Restrictions (CRITICAL):
-
No single box may exceed 30kg (or the specific limit stated in our booking email).
-
Surcharges: If a box exceeds the weight limit, the Courier (e.g., Parcelforce) will charge Us a penalty fee. We reserve the right to deduct any such penalty fees directly from the Seller’s final payment. 5.3. Hazardous Items: The Seller must not include hazardous materials (e.g., batteries, glass, solvents) in the package. 5.4. Proof of Collection: The Seller must ensure the courier scans the parcel upon collection and/or provides a receipt. This receipt is the only accepted proof of postage in the event of a lost parcel claim.
6. INSPECTION AND REVISED OFFERS
6.1. Inspection Period: We aim to inspect all Goods within 2–5 working days of arrival at our warehouse. 6.2. Grading Failures: If, upon inspection, the Goods are found to be:
-
(a) In worse condition than described (e.g., damp, torn, missing CDs);
-
(b) Fewer in number than the list provided; or

(c) Incorrect titles/issues; We will recalculate the value and issue a Revised Offer via email. 6.3. Seller Options: Upon receiving a Revised Offer, the Seller has 5 working days to reply with one of the following options:
-
Option A: Accept. We will process payment at the new price immediately.
-
Option B: Reject. We will return the Goods to the Seller. The Seller is responsible for the cost of return shipping (£15.00 administration & courier fee per box). This must be paid prior to dispatch.
-
Option C: Recycle. If the Goods are deemed valueless (e.g., mouldy/unsellable), We can recycle them free of charge. 6.4. Failure to Respond: If the Seller does not respond to the Revised Offer within 14 days, We reserve the right to process payment at the Revised Offer price or dispose of the items.
